Dwellings can be constructed in such as way as to have net zero emissions by reducing the gas and electricity consumption while maintaining acceptable and comfortable living standards through high level energy efficient appliances. The small amount of gas and electricity then being used will be offset by onsite power generation such as Photo Voltaics (solar cells).
